Springdale Takes Wildcard Series in Deciding Game
|
It took a while, but the Springdale T-Bones finally disposed of the Newport News Otters 3-1 in the series clincher at Otters Ballpark.
Winning the finale gave the T-Bones the series, 2-1. They will now advance to the Division Series.
The Most Valuable Player Award went to Springdale first baseman Eric Matheny. He batted .273 in the series, collecting 1 RBIs and scoring 1 runs.
The Springdale T-Bones will play against the Anaheim Blue Claws in the next round. Anaheim had a bye in the Wildcard Series. The Division Series schedule will be announced after the Wildcard Series finishes.
