Brinkley Gets Award for Relief Work
Sunday, October 12th , 2042
Paul Brinkley said he thinks hitters often underestimate him, as he's only 24 years old.

But he'll certainly be getting a lot more respect now, as the Columbia Boonslickers rising star has won the Western League Reliever of the Year Award for 2042.

He captured the award on the strength of his 2.25 ERA over 72 innings. He also had 4 saves in 37 relief appearances, 58 strikeouts and only 31 walks.

He received 14 first place votes out of a possible 20. Matt Race of the Lakewood Archers finished second in voting with 6 first place votes, while Matt Bonnell of the Gresham Raiders finished third.
