Sterner Socks It to Hammerheads, Cracks 5 Hits
It takes more than one player to win a baseball game - as proven by Rich Sterner of the Prescott Saints.

The Prescott catcher gave it his all and dominated Grand Rapids Hammerheads pitching at Hammerheads Ballpark, finishing with a great 5-for-5 line. However, when the game ended, the scoreboard showed the Hammerheads going home the winner, 14-3.

"There's no point gloating about a 5-hit day in a loss," Sterner said. "A loss just means you should have done more. Maybe I should have hit 5 home runs instead."

Rich Sterner hit an RBI double in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.

This year, Sterner is batting .455 with 2 home runs. He has scored 5 runs and driven in 11.
