SL1 Best Hitter Trophy Goes to Thurston Monday, July 1st , 2002 Not known for his offensive prowess, Joe Thurston set the league afire in June and took home the Sub League 1 Batter of the Month award. The Mussel Shoals first baseman posted a steady .409 batting average, 3 home runs, 14 RBIs and 19 runs. Thus far in 2002 Thurston is hitting .376 with 9 home runs, 40 RBIs, 57 runs scored and has compiled a .419 OBP. |
