League KO's Centurions-Salukis Players with 4-Game Suspensions Tuesday, August 28th , 2001 Tempers were flaring yesterday at Centurions Grove. Both the Centurions and Salukis were defending their turf. A few punches were thrown, but fortunately very few landed -- there was more wrestling than fighting. When the umpires sorted everything out, Glendale's Jim Unknown and Londontowne's Joe Nelson were ejected from the game. Today the league office suspended Unknown and Nelson for 4 games each. This year Nelson has registered 10 saves in 42 relief appearances. He has also compiled a 2-2 won-lost mark with a 3.45 ERA. In 47 innings he has fanned 34. |
