Diaz Belts 5 Hits
Sunday, August 12th , 2001
Getting 5 hits in a game has always been memorable feat in baseball. In the Fort Mohave's 17-0 win over Londontowne today, second baseman Edwin Diaz was red-hot, scorching them for hit after hit at Londontowne Stadium.

"To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax," Diaz said afterward. "I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I have to admit, I got a little tight when I realized I had a chance for five. On the last at-bat, I was ready to swing at anything close."

Edwin Diaz singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, struck out in the 7th, singled in the 9th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.

Diaz is hitting .270 this season with 13 home runs, 58 RBIs and 59 runs scored. He has 104 hits in 385 at-bats.
