Great Day for Sanders, Hits for Cycle Thursday, July 19th , 2001 Anthony Sanders had a banner day at the plate today, stringing together all four legs of the cycle as the Irvington Monsters beat the Aurora Rainiers, 6-0. Sanders drilled 4 hits in 5 at-bats, collecting 2 RBI and scoring 2 runs to capture the win for Irvington. "I was fortunate to see some good pitches and I was fortunate to be able to make the most of them," he said later. "It was a good day for us." Anthony Sanders hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit an RBI triple in the 7th and struck out in the 8th. To date this season Sanders is hitting .274 with 8 home runs. |
