Ramirez Goes on Rampage Against Kangaroos Thursday, June 20th , 2002 There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day. Alex Ramirez is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-5 against the Kemmerer Kangaroos at Kangaroos Ballpark today. The monster effort from the 27-year-old right fielder helped the Garden Grove Green Devils take the win, 6-2. "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Kangaroos manager Travis Johnson. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today." Alex Ramirez singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and singled in the 8th. So far in 2002 Ramirez is batting .352 with 12 home runs, 39 RBIs and 52 runs scored. He has 92 hits in 261 at-bats and a .388 OBP. |
