Players Suspended in Dragons-Red Sox Donnybrook
Wednesday, June 19th , 2002
After an intense confrontation, both the Dragons Ben Broussard and the Red Sox Juan Guzman were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Grand Rapids-Chandler game. Ben Broussard will miss 4 games, while Juan Guzman was suspended for 6 games.

"Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Ben Broussard commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play."

This year Broussard has hit at a .369 clip with 94 hits, 14 home runs, 61 RBIs and 51 runs scored.

This year Guzman has compiled a 4-3 record with a 5.38 ERA in 13 starts.
