Mariners Clip Twins, 2-1, in WC Contest
|
The Seattle Mariners defeated the Minnesota Twins, 2-1, in Game 4 of the Wild Card Series. Doing his part was starter Daisuke Matsuzaka, who threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball. The win moves Seattle into a 2-2 tie with Minnesota in the series.
Seattle took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning, when Nelson Cruz hit a clutch 2-run home run to bring Mariners fans to their feet.
Cruz called the win a testament to his team's "tenacity."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Kingdome in Seattle.
