Suzuki has 3 hits, Leads Giants to Win
|
The 9-5 San Francisco win over Chicago was due largely to Ichiro Suzuki. The Giants right fielder went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. Jose Rosado was the winning pitcher. Over 7.2 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 7 hits, with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts. With their winning streak at 5, the Giants have raced to a strong start this season.
Adrian Beltre had a big 3-run home run for the Giants in the bottom of the second inning. With San Francisco leading 3-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he sized up a curveball from Jayden Branch, who finished 2nd in the NL in ERA with 3.01 in 1993, and punished it. The result was his 11th home run of the season, which put the Giants on top, 6-0.
"Nice to keep our winning streak intact," said Beltre.
