Extra-Inning Walk-Off Win for Cardinals
|
The St. Louis Cardinals picked up a win at Busch Stadium, taking down the Montreal Expos, 6-5. Starting pitcher Bruce Chen was a big reason why. St. Louis is now 52-56, Montreal 67-42.
The Cardinals procured the win, in large part because of first baseman John Olerud. In the bottom of the tenth, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Chen said in his postgame press conference.
