Shu of Long Island Earns ATL Batting Crown Thursday, September 8th , 2039 One of the more prestigious postseason awards is presented to the league batting champion. The Atlantic League recipient this year is Long Island's 33-year-old second baseman Ming-an Shu, who hit .357 over 136 games. Included in this accomplishment were 178 hits in 499 at-bats, 12 home runs, 86 runs batted in and 74 runs scored. Shu spoke humbly to reporters about the award. "It's such a difficult thing to do," he explained, "There are a lot of great hitters in this league and to outhit them all is very special." |
