River Bandits Orta Injured Thursday, August 4th , 2039 Dealing with injuries is part of the game, and now Mario Orta of the River Bandits knows this firsthand. He was injured against the South Bend Cubs while throwing a pitch. Because of an arthritic elbow, the Quad Cities starting pitcher is expected to miss 4 months. Orta was a little upset, but understands it comes with the territory. "Baseball can be a contact sport. You try to be careful, but no matter how careful you are, injuries happen."
