Chiefs Danny Mendez to Miss Year Tuesday, June 28th , 2039 Danny Mendez of the Peoria Chiefs was injured in today's game against South Bend and had to be helped off the field by the trainers. The initial diagnosis is a torn ulnar collateral ligament, and he is expected to be out for up to 12-13 months. It happened while Mendez was throwing a pitch. "It hurt a lot, to be honest. I just hope it heals soon and I can get back on the field." Crunching the numbers on Mendez for the year, he has made 11 relief appearances, recorded no saves and compiled a 0-0 won-lost mark and 4.97 ERA. In pitching 25.1 innings, he has totaled 29 strikeouts and 14 walks. |
