Syracuse Takes Round 1 Saturday, September 17th , 2039 The Syracuse Mets "bent but didn't break" against the Lehigh Valley IronPigs in the Round 1. That's according to Jeremy Meverden of Syracuse, who was named series MVP. "Our guys faced adversity and overcame it. This series wasn't easy, but we stuck to our game and made it work," he said. Syracuse won the final game by a 6-5 count and the series 3-1. Meverden's MVP performance included hitting .625 with a .667 on-base percentage. He also had 1 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 4 runs. The Syracuse Mets will play against the Indianapolis Indians in the next round.
