Pirates Heading to World Series Thursday, October 20th , 2039 The Pittsburgh Pirates have swept the Colorado Rockies and are on to the World Series. Pittsburgh won 4-0 today at Colorado Field to clinch the League Championship Series. "We're happy to have put the dagger in when we had the chance," said Pittsburgh third baseman Drew Bianco, who was named MVP for the series. "It could have been a tough series to finish if we let them start winning." Bianco won the award with a .357 batting average and a .526 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 7 runs. The Pittsburgh Pirates don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Texas Rangers - Montreal Expos series.
