Masters on Fire: 5-for-5 for Minnesota Saturday, August 6th , 2039 The 5th time is the charm -- at least for Steve Masters. The right fielder for the Minnesota Twins hit the milestone today against the Detroit Tigers, helping his club to a narrow 8-7 victory. Masters finished with a 5-for-5 line at the plate. "Masters was a tough out today," Detroit manager Reinaldo Ruiz told the press in the postgame interview. "If it weren't for him, I think we had this one." Steve Masters singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Jake Walsh in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Alex Perez in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
