Georgia's Rosales Reaps EPBL's Rookie Award Tuesday, September 20th , 2039 It was a lot of headlines and highlights for Georgia first baseman Oscar Rosales in his first season in the Empire Professional Baseball League. It was announced today that the 25-year-old was voted the top newcomer and had earned the Rookie of the Year Award. Oscar Rosales collected 79 hits, 10 home runs, 38 RBIs, 30 walks and 39 runs scored. He hit .320 and had a .406 on-base percentage. He received 6 first place votes out of a possible 8. Jose Alvarez of the Puerto Rico Islanders finished second in voting with 2 first place votes, while Alfredo Jaramillo of the Georgia Rhinos finished third.
