Montemayor Snags CUB Batting Honor in January Wednesday, February 1st , 2040 It's perhaps an award he'll win many more times through his career, as at age 23 Jose Montemayor has a lot of baseball ahead of him. But for now the young Pinar del Rio Vegueros star can enjoy the numbers he put up in January, which have garnered him the nod as the Serie Nacional de Baseball Batter of the Month. His breakout month featured a .378 average with 11 home runs, 29 RBIs and 24 runs scored. This season in 68 games, Montemayor has hit at a .328 clip with 82 hits, 13 home runs, 48 RBIs and 37 runs scored. |
