Guevara Hits in 20 Consecutive Games Friday, July 29th , 2039 The Aguascalientes Rieleros may have proven to be mere mortals today as they lost 5-4 to the Tabasco Olmecas, but Tony Guevara continued to hit like a god. The third baseman collected 1 hit in 5 at-bats in the loss and extended his hitting streak to 20 games. "Guevara is playing great and is on fire right now," Rieleros manager Carlos Ramirez said. "Hopefully his play can spark the rest of our team and help us pick up some wins." Guevara was apparently not happy with the game and when pressed by reporters in the locker room only said "nothing else matters but the loss." Tony Guevara flied out in the 1st, grounded out in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, grounded out in the 8th and grounded out in the 9th. This year Guevara has batted at a .342 pace with 65 hits, 5 home runs, 26 RBIs and scored 34 times. |
