Thomas Silences Cedar Rapids Bats
Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Burlington Bees take on the Cedar Rapids Kernels.

The Burlington Bees picked up a win at Community Field, taking down the Cedar Rapids Kernels, 2-0. Starting pitcher Pete Thomas was a big reason why. Burlington now has a 4-game win streak.

The standout performance belonged to 18-year-old Thomas. With his baby face, he looked more like someone starting for a high school team than for the Bees. His performance, however, was nothing short of top-notch. The youngster dominated the Kernels, striking out 9 and scattering 2 hits over 6 innings. Thomas is now 1-2 on the season.

Thomas attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
