River Bandits Claim Late Win
|
Extra innings were needed to determine a winner at Modern Woodmen Park.
The Quad Cities River Bandits topped the Burlington Bees, 2-1, in 14 innings at Modern Woodmen Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Quad Cities pitcher Malik Armstrong. Quad Cities, at 58-60, holds down 5th place in the Western Division.
In the bottom of the 14th, Devin Tucker had a chance to deal the knockout blow. And he did, punching a run-scoring walk to center off Burlington pitcher Mario Gallardo.
"Malik did a good job mixing and matching," said Quad Cities manager Dylan Bundy.
