Loons Edge Past TinCaps, 4-3
Great Lakes and Fort Wayne got after it at Parkview Field.

Mike Martin did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Fort Wayne TinCaps from losing, 4-3, to the Great Lakes Loons at Parkview Field. Martin went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Mel Calixto snagged the win in relief. In 3.2 innings, the left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits. He's now 4-4 on the season.

This game was not decided until Wilson Gonzales came to bat in the top of the tenth. With runners on 1st and 3rd and one out, the Great Lakes second baseman grounded out, driving in 1 run. The Loons took the lead, 4-3.

"The game of baseball will test you," said Isiah Kiner-Falefa, the Great Lakes skipper. "This one tested us."

The Loons move to 56-47 with the win, while the TinCaps drop to 57-46.
