|
Getting offensive support from Dan Sciarrotta, the Cedar Rapids Kernels topped the Beloit Snappers, 11-6. Sciarrotta was 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Kernels. Eric Hauge got credit for the win, improving to 3-1. He allowed 3 runs on 3 hits in 5 innings. The Kernels sit in first place in the Western Division with a record of 58-35.
Also making an impact was left fielder Jerry Molina, who drilled a run-scoring single in the bottom of the third inning for the Kernels. For the game, Molina was 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Molina told the Cedar Rapids Gazette.
