Mets Topple Braves, 4-2
|
New York Mets starter Andrew Dalquist turned in a top-notch performance against the Atlanta Braves at Truist Park. The result was a win for the Mets, 4-2. Dalquist went 5 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 3, and struck out 3. His record improves to 3-1. The win puts New York at 19-7.
New York used a clutch hit from D.J. Winger to get the win. The pinch hitter drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Mets ahead, 4-0. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said New York manager Hunter Smith.
