Twins Take Down White Sox, 5-3
|
Minnesota center fielder Dan Williams helped his team beat the Chicago White Sox, 5-3. Williams, who is tied for 6th in the AL in triples with 1, went 3 for 4 for the Twins. The winning pitcher was Greg Keels. He tossed 94 pitches over 5 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits. With the loss, Chicago falls to 11-13.
With runs few and far between, the Twins had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for Minnesota came in the top of the fifth inning, when right fielder Steve Masters delivered a 2-run single. The single was hit off A.J. Ruhl and made the score 4-2, Twins. Masters went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"It feels good to get this one," Williams told the Minnesota Daily.
