Fire Frogs Run Win Streak to 6
|
Tampa pitcher Jeff Stafford gave the Fire Frogs all they could handle, but in the end, Florida left George M. Steinbrenner Field with a win, 2-1. Stafford allowed 2 runs on 3 hits over 7.1 innings. Rodolfo Baca got credit for the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed 1 run on no hits in 3.1 innings. Earning his 21st save of the year was Roger Serrano.
Paddy Squire provided a timely hit. The Florida shortstop delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the seventh inning to put the Fire Frogs on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.
"There's a lot of good karma around our club," said winning manager Jordan Desguin.
Florida has now reeled off 6 straight wins.
