Cubs Take Nail-Biter Over Cardinals
|
In the 6-5 Chicago win over St. Louis, the impact of Dan Staten was substantial. Staten, who is tied for 8th in the NL in RBI with 13, was 2-3 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Chicago goes to 6-10.
Alex Sierra electrified the crowd in the bottom of the 11th when he took St. Louis pitcher Alex Velasquez deep. His solo home run sent the Cubs home winners.
Staten said afterward that he hoped the win would galvanize the team.
