A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Fredericksburg Nationals and Winston-Salem Dash.

The Fredericksburg Nationals called upon starter Kevin Maini, and he delivered, leading his team to victory over the Winston-Salem Dash, 3-1. Maini, the winner, moves to 4-3. He threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 2 walks. Getting the save was Jody Lassiter, his 4th.

Fredericksburg took a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning. With no one out, third baseman Jose Ramirez hit a 2-run home run that electrified the crowd.

"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Ramirez.

The Nationals raised their record to 68-58.
