Nationals Rally to Win
|
The Fredericksburg Nationals wiggled past the Wilmington Blue Rocks, 2-1, at Daniel S. Frawley Stadium. The win was highlighted by the performance of Fredericksburg pitcher Eric Fallon. Fallon picked up the win for Fredericksburg, going 9 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 6-5. Ben Fairless sewed up the save, his 27th.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Norm Titus? The Fredericksburg right fielder had a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Nationals on top, 1-0. For the game, Titus had 2 doubles and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"A lot to like, just frustrated that we came up short," said Wilmington manager Randy Flores.
