The Fredericksburg Nationals took on the Winston-Salem Dash at New Fredericksburg Ballpark.

Winston-Salem catcher Dave Cole had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Cole went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2, even as Fredericksburg beat the Dash, 10-4. Nelson Perez picked up the win with 6 innings of work. He allowed 2 runs on 7 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 4. On the season, he is now 1-1. Randy Franzen was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 2 of 3 save opportunities.

In the bottom of the 4th, the Nationals grabbed the lead on a two-out single by Victor Somarriba. Fredericksburg at the time was trailing 1-0, but Somarriba's 2-run single off Josh Coffey put his team in front.

"We'll take some time to unwind," said Somarriba, "and then get after it again."

Fredericksburg is now 49-50, Winston-Salem 63-36.
