The Winston-Salem Dash topped the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, 7-6, in Carolina League action at TicketReturn.com Field at Pelicans Ballpark. The game was highlighted by the performance of Winston-Salem left fielder Tim Melancon. Winston-Salem reliever Joe Foshee picked up the win to move to 3-8. Bill Esparza suffered the loss. The win puts the Dash at 30-41, while the Pelicans drop to 42-29.

Had Mike Gabrielson not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Gabrielson hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 7-6, in favor of the Dash.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Gabrielson.
