Nationals Lose to Blue Rocks in Walk Off
|
The Fredericksburg Nationals got a sterling performance from pitcher Danny Aguilar, but the Wilmington Blue Rocks still prevailed, 3-2. Aguilar threw 8.2 innings of 7-hit ball. Wilmington reliever Jose Blanco picked up the win, upping his record to 4-1. Daniel Cardenas took the loss. The Blue Rocks improve their record to 27-29 with the win over Fredericksburg.
In the bottom of the fourth, Wilmington left fielder Joe Bigelow had a big at-bat. With no one out and a runner on 1st, he hit a run-scoring triple. For the game, Bigelow went 2 for 4 with a triple.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Bigelow said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
