Despite a great performance by Wilmington right fielder Jayden Glass, the Salem Red Sox defeated the Blue Rocks by the score of 5-3 at Haley Toyota Field at Salem Memorial Ballpark. Glass went 4-5 with 4 singles. Chad Rector snagged the win in relief. In 1.1 innings, the right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit. He's now 2-0 on the season. Earning his 9th save of the year was Jeff Salvesen.

Had it not been for Luis Flores, the results might have been different. In the bottom of the seventh inning, when the Red Sox were trailing 3-2, Flores hit a 2-run single for Salem, giving his team the lead.

"Winning is not something we take for granted," Flores said.

Salem has now won 4 straight.
