Yankees Deal Guardians 10-7 Loss
|
The New York Yankees and Cleveland Guardians completed their game despite the rain.
The New York Yankees had to overcome a big game from Cleveland right fielder Manny Matos to leave Progressive Field with a victory. And they did, winning 10-7. Matos hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Cleveland, at 3-11, is off to a poor start in 2039.
New York used the timely hitting of Jamie Castel to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the 13th inning to put the Yankees on top, 9-7. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Always feels extra good winning this kind of game," said Castel.
