Rancho Cucamonga got a decent performance from pitcher Jared Eddy, but it wasn't enough to beat the Lake Elsinore Storm. Lake Elsinore won the LoanMart Field contest, 5-2. Eddy threw 7.0 innings allowing 3 runs for the losing team. The Storm now have a record of 62-72 with the win over Rancho Cucamonga.

The result might have been different for Lake Elsinore, had it not been for Damiano Martelli, the 22-year old second baseman . Martelli stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put Lake Elsinore up, 5-2. For the game, he had 1 double and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.

"I thought we played a nice game," Martelli told the Lake Elsinore Today. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
