Rancho Cucamonga right fielder Matt Boland had a big day at LoanMart Field against the Stockton Ports. The 26-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-6 and led to the 13-0 Quakes triumph over Stockton.

"Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Boland said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all."

Matt Boland hit an RBI double in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Willie Rios in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Willie Rios in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and flied out in the 8th.

Currently Boland is batting .325 with 10 home runs and 74 RBIs.
