Nuts Fall Short, 3-2, at Rancho Cucamonga
The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes picked up a win at LoanMart Field, taking down the Modesto Nuts, 3-2. Starting pitcher Eli Matlock was a big reason why. Rancho Cucamonga reliever Abdullah Abboud was the winner. His record is now 6-0. Ernie Knudson took the loss. Rancho Cucamonga has now won 5 straight, while the Nuts have lost 4 in a row.

Rancho Cucamonga took a 3-2 lead on Jonathan Silvers's 5th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Silvers hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Modesto pitcher Ernie Knudson shaking his head.

"This team is real focused right now," said Rancho Cucamonga manager John Matos.
