The Inland Empire 66ers got a sterling performance from pitcher Ken Shelton, but the Lancaster JetHawks still prevailed, 5-2. Shelton threw 8.1 innings allowing 5 runs. Josh Roth came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 3.1 innings. His record now stands at 2-0. Bobby McClure closed the door for Lancaster, picking up his 3rd save of the year.

Mike Berner, the 24-year old shortstop , had a direct impact on the outcome. Berner contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Lancaster up, 2-1.

Berner called the triumph "a good team win."
