Expos Lose By a Run at New York, 1-0
|
Erik Dickman pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Montreal Expos, despite Dickman's fine outing, dropped a 1-0 decision to the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium. Tim Rawnsley, 1-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 3 hits in 4.2 innings. The loss makes Montreal 4-2.
Early in the game, left fielder Chris Eley had a solo home run for New York. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Yankees on top, 1-0.
Eley said his team "played with focus."
