Schmid Goes Deep Twice in 14-3 Sod Poodles Win
The Amarillo Sod Poodles handed the Midland RockHounds a sound defeat, 14-3, at Security Bank Ballpark. Ken Schmid was a main contributor to the win. He hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 and driving in 6 for Amarillo. Amarillo is first in the South Division with a record of 41-21.

The Sod Poodles got a big hit from second baseman Chris McKinney. Facing Midland pitcher Josh Martin in the top of the sixth, McKinney pounded a 3-run home run to left-center. His 5th home run of the season put the Sod Poodles ahead, 6-3.

McKinney said: "We didn't really let up all day. We kind of kept going and going."
