The Detroit Tigers got a superb performance from pitcher Mitch Abrams, but the Minnesota Twins still won the game, 5-3. Abrams threw 5.2 innings of 2-hit ball. Pat Bois picked up the save for Minnesota, his 1st of the year. The loss puts Detroit at 2-3.
Sergio Perez, the 24-year old third baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Perez contributed a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the top of the seventh inning to put Minnesota up, 5-3.
"I like our moxie," said Twins manager Taylor Hyssong.
