On Road, Philadelphia Beats New York, 3-1
|
Citi Field was the site of a tense game between the New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies.
Philadelphia Phillies starter Kevin Nihart pitched a strong game against the New York Mets at Citi Field, leading the Phillies to victory, 3-1. Dana Erb picked up the save, his 1st.
Bobby Dooley chipped in for Philadelphia with a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth. For the game, the center fielder had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 RBI.
"We'll hit the hot tub in good spirits tonight," said Nihart.
The Phillies, now 4-2, have played some good baseball in the early going.
