White Sox Earn 2-1 Win Against Guardians
|
Cleveland pitcher Oscar Estrada gave the White Sox all they could handle, but in the end, Chicago left Progressive Field with a win, 2-1. Estrada allowed no runs on 1 hit over 5 innings. The win was credited to Jesus Yunga in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Dan Anderson took the loss. Cleveland falls to 2-3.
In the top of the eighth inning, second baseman Victor Gonzales came through big-time for the White Sox. With Chicago trailing 1-0, he belted a solo home run.
"Sometimes winning takes more than 27 outs," said White Sox manager Gaby Sanchez.
