The Frisco RoughRiders picked up a win at Hodgetown, topping the Amarillo Sod Poodles, 5-2. On the mound for Frisco was right-hander Jim Wisner. He played a principal role in the triumph. Wisner yielded 1 run over 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 7. His record improves to 1-1. Willie Jovel got the save, the 4th for him this season.

In the bottom of the ninth, Juan Calderon stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Sod Poodles were trailing 5-2, but had the bases loaded. That's when Willie Jovel made a terrific pitch and Calderon lined out. Gone was the dream of a Amarillo comeback.
