Gaines Stars in 9-2 Trash Pandas Win
The 9-2 Rocket City win over Chattanooga was due largely to Nate Gaines. The Trash Pandas right fielder went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Brendan Halton, the winner, improved to 5-4. He held Chattanooga to 1 run on 5 hits over 8 innings, while racking up 6 strikeouts. The first-place Trash Pandas lifted their record to 74-29.

With Rocket City leading 4-0 in the top of the sixth, Gaines came up to bat against Chattanooga pitcher Mike Coar. Gaines hit a changeup to left for a grand slam home run. His 23rd home run of the season put the Trash Pandas on top, 8-0.

"Today was a lot of fun," said Gaines.
