Biscuits Suffer 7-3 Loss to Shuckers

Andy Helton knocked in 4 runs to help Biloxi beat Montgomery, 7-3. Helton produced 1 single and 1 home run. Mario Ruiz was the winning pitcher. Over 5 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 3 hits, with 4 walks and 7 strikeouts. Mike Foltz closed the door for Biloxi, picking up his 7th save of the year.
With Biloxi leading 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Helton hit a run-scoring single off Montgomery hurler Nate Hale. It was the 11th hit of the season for Helton and put his team ahead, 2-0.
"Winning is hard sometimes," said Shuckers manager Brendan Lafferty. "This one was nice to get."
The last-place Shuckers lifted their record to 33-54.
