The Mississippi Braves got a superb performance from pitcher Jon Gerling. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Pensacola. The Blue Wahoos won the game, 4-3. Gerling threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. Earning his 1st save of the year was Oscar Acuna. The 4th-place Blue Wahoos improved to 35-46.

Orlando Galvez provided some late-game drama. In the bottom of the eighth, with two out and a runner on 2nd, Galvez hit a run-scoring double. It helped Pensacola take the lead and grab the win.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Galvez told the Pensacola Times.
