After a 5-hit effort to lead Cleveland (DSL)'s 13-3 victory over the New York N (DSL) Mets , right fielder Jimmy Battaglia told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the Dominican Rookie League-level is really something special."

The 22-year-old player earned his accolades today at New York Mets Complex with a spectacular 5-for-5 game against the Mets .

"His swing is getting there," said Guardians skipper A.J. Holland, who spoke glowingly of Battaglia after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Jimmy did that to perfection today."

Jimmy Battaglia hit a solo-shot off Tommy Butler in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Tony Estrada in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.

Looking at his stats this year, Battaglia has compiled a .339 batting average, while hitting 4 home runs and driving in 20 runs. He has played in 15 games and scored 18 runs.
